Cianbro completed the renovation of an existing building in Pittsfield, Maine, to a state-of-the-art medical flocked swab manufacturing facility owned by Puritan Medical Products. Puritan is one of two major manufacturers of COVID-19 testing swabs in the country.

• Mechanical System provisions to accept flock, hydra, and multivac packaging machines
• 15 rooftop air handling units
• 15 exhaust fans
• Six air-cooled condensing units
• New high-performance epoxy and urethane floor in the production spaces and warehouse
• Luxury vinyl planking and a custom reception desk in the support space

The project utilized an expedited design-and-build schedule that turned over the facility's interior in three phases over ten months. The design of the project factored in building constraints, including limited headroom (leading to under slab utilities) and weather (mechanically fastened roof). Cianbro also demolished an adjacent building to create additional space for potential future expansion.
