Cianbro’s Power and Energy Team was recently recognized by American Electric Power (AEP) with the 2020 Contractor Safety Award. The Safety Award is presented annually to AEP’s top three contractors (small, medium, and large contractor categories) and considers contractors from all of AEP’s operating territories.

On October 12, 2020, Puritan announced a second major expansion in Pittsfield, Maine in a continued partnership with Cianbro. This second facility will complement Puritan’s first manufacturing plant in Pittsfield that was retrofitted by Cianbro at the beginning of 2020 at 129 N. Main Street to produce foam-tipped testing swabs.

In 2019, Cianbro started construction on a 115/34.5/12.47kV greenfield substation in Central Maine. The work included site civil and above and below-grade construction on the substation. Cianbro also upgraded the existing single tap 115kV transmission line to two lines of looping transmission in and out of new substation.

A joint venture between Cianbro and VJS was formed over a year ago with the responsibility to oversee the construction of a replacement facility for the Maine Veterans’ Homes – Augusta. The joint venture, continues to operate under safety precautions suggested by the Maine CDC including: daily medical surveys, temperature checks, required personal and environmental hygiene practices and proper PPE components.
