Job Responsibilities:

Concrete Batch Plant Operator is responsible for the following duties: coordinating plant materials, weighing and mixing aggregates, maintaining various machines, and producing concrete that follows processing specifications.

Reporting to the Project Superintendent, the Batch Plant Operator is responsible for:
  • Operating and troubleshooting a ready mix batch plant.
  • Set up and maintain the efficiency of a ready mix batch plant
  • Accurately proportion cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures in batches
  • Work with and coordinate with other project site operations and production.
  • Check and manage inventory control of raw materials, concrete additives, and/or specialized materials and notifies appropriate suppliers of production needs.
  • Knowledge of concrete batching technology and have computer competences
  • Compliance with applicable environmental regulations as it relates to the proper operation of batch plant equipment.
  • Daily inspection of batching facilities, material storage, and will complete maintenance checklist.
  • Maintenance of the ready-mix batch plant
Additional Expectations:
  • ACI Level 1 Certification
  • Working outdoors on a barge
  • 5-10 years of batch plant experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working in an aggregates facility preferred.

Qualifications/Requirements:  
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy civil construction projects.

  • Must be able to read and understand contract and shop drawings and have competency with all fabrication equipment and processes.

  • Generate and maintain the project submittal log, Requests for Information log, Correspondence with client/owner, contract compliance listings, buyout logs, procurement reports, .
  • Identify, document, and estimate costs of extra work activities, which were not anticipated in original scope and provide proper notification and financial reporting of change orders. Establish and maintain a project change order log that ties to the UAR.
  • Coordinate the transmittal and subsequent approval of all submittals to the Owner/Engineer.
  • Assist estimating of installation of various electrical systems, equipment selection, and proposal evaluation, requisitioning, and coordinating equipment delivery.
  • Interacts with client, regulatory, state and federal agencies, general public, business and professional organizations, and external consultants and subcontractors.
  • Supports change order and purchase order preparation and reviews, including: planning, scheduling, and specification/contract conformance reviews.
  • May perform project financial reporting and trending functions and the invoice/billing process.

The Estimating Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all estimating activities in regards to transmission and distribution bids, predominantly serving high voltage electrical distribution, transmission, and substation projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with operations to identify and select project estimates, request for proposals, and request for information events
