The fourth shipment of E-room modules destined for a new nickel processing plant in Long Harbour, Newfoundland, has departed Cianbro's bulkhead in Brewer, Maine. On board were six E-room modules, which leaves four E-room modules to be completed onsite in Brewer. The fourth barge-load of modules for this project was the 14th shipment overall at the Cianbro Modular Manufacturing Facility since start up in 2008. Barge #5 is expected to arrive in Brewer during the second week of September, to be loaded with the four remaining E-room modules. Among those are the two largest modules -- the three story E-rooms 226-3 and 226-4. These three-story E-rooms are among the tallest electrical room buildings ever shipped in the world. Work on those modules is expected to be completed by August 30th, ahead of schedule. Barge # 5 is scheduled to ship early in the week of September 17th. During the last two weeks in September, the Cianbro team will be cleaning up and loading two trucks of "ship-loose" product for the Long Harbour jobsite. All hand-over documentation will be completed in September with the modules. To date, the project has included over 500,000 work hours to install:
1. 4,000 tons of steel
2. 200,000 square feet of siding
3. 60,000 square feet of roofing
4. 560,000 linear feet of electrical cable
5. 6,500 cable terminations
6. 1,200 pieces of electrical gear
7. One hundred 3-ring binders of turn-over documentation
Cianbro utilized nine Maine contractors to help complete the work.
