Cianbro and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) have successfully completed Phase One of a three phase project to restore the famous 89 year old Mystic River Bascule Bridge between Groton and Stonington, Connecticut. The team wrapped up an intensive effort to complete the sandblasting and repainting of the bridge in time for the span's April 16th return to service for the busy summer tourist season in Mystic. The job, set in a downtown city setting, required an extraordinary amount of coordination between ConnDOT, local citizens, Cianbro, and Cianbro's painting subcontractor, Gemstone, in order to complete Phase One in a considerate and timely manner. In this video members of ConnDOT, Cianbro, and the local community discuss the teamwork that was needed to accomplish the goal.
