PITTSFIELD, Maine - It was a day to celebrate at Cianbro's Fabrication facility in Pittsfield, Monday. That's because the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration teamed up with the Maine Department of Labor to honor the fabrication branch of the Cianbro Companies with a special safety award.
Today, Cianbro hosted a luncheon ceremony for the entire Fabrication team, with appearances by Maine Labor Commissioner Laura Fortman, Cianbro Vice President Alan Burton, and General Manager Jack Klimp from Cianbro's Fabrication Facility.
The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) is the highest honor that OSHA awards to small worksites across the nation. The recognition acknowledges Cianbro's ongoing emphasis on workplace safety and health, and the special commitment attained by the 85 pipe fabricators and support staff at Cianbro Fabrication Corporation. Those team members have logged more than a million work hours since their last lost time injury in 2002.
