Scope of Work

Cianbro performed multiple projects to construct a 520 MW, gas-fired power plant.

Project Details

  • Excavated the 4.2-acre site to subgrade, backfilled to grade, ditched, and constructed an access road
  • Drove 738-37 feet mandrel-driven, thin-wall corrugated steel pile shells to refusal and placed 5,000 psi concrete mix in each shell to produce a 100-ton compression and 30-ton tension pile
  • Placed 3,000 cubic yards of concrete foundations for the cooling tower, water treatment plant, and transformers
  • Installed over 36,000 linear feet of carbon and stainless steel piping, along with P91 and P22 chrome moly piping
  • Installed gas detection and alarm systems
  • Performed electrical wiring for building services, Programmable Logic Center, and Diagnostic Control System
  • Installed switch gear and medium-voltage equipment interconnects
  • Installed balance of plant mechanical equipment for all feed water cooling water, raw water, and HRSG boiler water circulating pumps, and natural gas preheaters
  • Installed over 14,000 linear feet of heat trace wire, 83 heat-traced instruments, and 3,600 linear feet of heat-traced tube bundles
