Scope of Work

Cianbro served as Construction Manager for a new 770,000-square-foot gaming facility in Bangor, Maine. 

Project Details

  • Removed 125,000 cubic yards of material
  • Removed 40,000 cubic yards of ledge and crushed
  • Removed 3,500 cubic yards of hazardous contaminated soils
  • Brought in 70,000 cubic yards of select back-fill
  • Relocated and rebuilt the I-395 off-ramp, including the reconstruction of the exit ramp onto State Street
  • Established turning lanes on Main Street, to include multiple utility crossings
  • Discontinued a city street to combine two city blocks into one lot, which amounted to 8.5 acres
  • Constructed a 22-foot-high by 900-foot-long segmental earth and retaining wall along the boundary, next to the railroad
  • Responsible for the demolition of five buildings, including an eight-story hotel
  • Managed all 20 trade partners
  • Successfully employed union trade partners for project portions
  • Self-performed the hotel and parking garage electrical
  • Fabricated and furnished the hotel structural steel and theming finishes

Lean, Innovative, and Unique Project Solutions

The facility was constructed on a tight site where the building footprint consumed 95% of the property. The team successfully maintained an accelerated schedule while meeting the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) and effectively incorporating all unanticipated challenges and design evolutions.
