Scope of Work

Cianbro constructed three new 34.5 kV substations.

Project Details

  • Substation 1:
    • Performed sitework
    • Constructed a new 34.5 kV substation with associated 12 kV distribution circuits
    • Performed above/below grade work including grounding, conduit, cable trench, steel erection, equipment installation, and bus fabrication
    • Constructed a new control house and performed AC/DC equipment “fit out”
    • Pulled and terminated P&C cable
  • Substation 2:
    • Performed sitework
    • Constructed a new 34.5 kV substation with associated 12 kV distribution circuits
    • Performed above/below grade work including grounding, conduit, cable trench, steel erection, equipment installation, and bus fabrication
    • Constructed a new control house and performed AC/DC equipment “fit out”
    • Pulled and terminated P&C cable
  • Substation 3:
    • Performed sitework
    • Performed a sequenced demolition, modification, and expansion to the existing CMP 34.5/12 kV yard
    • Performed above/below grade work including grounding, conduit, cable trench, steel erection, equipment installation, and bus fabrication
    • Pulled and terminated P&C cable
    • Installed a temporary T-Line bypass to facilitate the sequenced demolition and expansion
    • Constructed a new control house and performed AC/DC equipment “fit out”

Lean, Innovative, and Unique Project Solutions

This reinforcement project consisted of three locations; as a result the Cianbro team safely and effectively managed the movement of team members, materials and resources.  Additionally this project required working inside an existing yard, winter working conditions and a tight project schedule.
