Scope of Work
Cianbro completed 5 projects for Franklin Memorial Hospital including pre-construction, construction management and self-performance of critical work activities following a fire event. Work was performed within occupied spaces as well as isolated areas while adjacent hospital services remained in operation. Cianbro worked with the owner, architect/engineer, insurance representatives, and third party inspection engineers to plan and expedite the work for minimal impact to ongoing hospital operations, patient care and visitors.

Project Details
  • Provided emergency stabilization and weather protection enclosures for the structure and roof to ensure a watertight condition
  • Provided constructability and planning for the path forward
  • Worked with project stakeholders to develop a plan to replace the failed roof structure
  • Assisted the architect/engineer to incorporate the emergency stabilization into the final structure to save the owner time and costs 
  • Performed smoke odor mitigation of the remaining structure
  • Provided pre-construction and construction management services to fully demolish and rebuild the first and second floor fire damaged space 
  • Performed code repairs to the existing 42,000 sf west wing 
  • Performed pre-construction and construction management services to demolish the former HIM and HR space and construct the new Family Practice facility within the building
  • Self-performed the electrical and tel/data for the Family Practice facility

Unique Challenge

Cianbro worked closely with staff members to facilitate proper Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM).
