The fifth and final shipment of Cianbro-built electrical room modules destined for the nickel processing plant in Long Harbour, Newfoundland departed Brewer's Eastern Manufacturing Facility on October 4. Aside from being the shipment that wrapped up the two-year project for Cianbro, the barge load of four modules is significant for having a pair of three-story E-rooms on board. The two massive modules are more than 65 feet tall, 120 feet long, and are considered by the industry to be among the tallest electrical room buildings ever shipped via barge.
Cianbro's contract to build 22 of the high-tech electrical room modules was completed on time and under budget. The Cianbro team came away with a very good safety record across approximately 400,000 work hours on the project.
"The quality of the work is very high," said Cianbro's General Manager in Brewer, Joe Cote. "The client is very satisfied with our product, and I'd like to thank the team for their effort in terms of safety, quality and productivity. Our team members displayed the attributes that make the Eastern Manufacturing Facility a world-class module yard."
