Eighteen joint venture team members safely returned to the MPRP Central Loop Project last week after seven 15 hour days of storm duty in Connecticut. The October 29th snow storm left 800,000 Connecticut Light & Power residents without power, some for as long as 10 days. Cianbro Irby crews worked in the towns of Farmington, Simsbury, and Bloomfield to rebuild two miles of 23 kV transmission line, several distribution circuits, and cleared brush from within an already tight right-of-way. While in Bloomfield, crews had a hand in restoring power to our SNE regional office.
Cianbro General Foreman Pat Smith said the Connecticut residents were very appreciative of the storm crew's restoration efforts. He's glad the joint venture's collaborative expertise was able to help our fellow team members in Bloomfield during this difficult time.
In addition, five team members stayed in Maine to handle CMP outage work. Afterward, they mobilized to Nashua, New Hampshire to finish up the restoration efforts for Public Service of New Hampshire.
