NPS Towpath Update: Preparing a Floating Jobsite

Since the groundbreaking ceremonies along the Potomac River in Williamsport, Maryland last August, Cianbro Project Manager Kevin Mitchell and his team have been setting the stage for repairing the towpath of Maryland's historic Chesapeake and Ohio canal. The bulk of the work will be done from a small armada of barges carrying Cianbro cranes, team members, and a variety of equipment and materials that have been shipped to the area in large truckloads. The Cianbro team says preparation is important because once the actual construction begins, the work will move at an accelerated pace. Kevin Mitchell discusses the preparations at Cianbro's base of operations just upriver from the deteriorated section of towpath that will receive Cianbro's TLC.
