Cianbro's Southern New England Region is the recipient of two awards presented by the Connecticut Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors during ABC's annual awards banquet dinner held on Thursday, January 28th. The awards were given for the work completed at the Brookfield Phase 2 Compressor Station in Brookfield, Connecticut. This fast track project was completed for Iroquois Gas Transmission Services and involved the dedicated work of a well oiled team, working together to complete over 100,000 hours of work without a single recordable injury. The awards received were:
- 2009 Associated Builders and Contractors of Connecticut Best of the Best Safety Award
- 2009 Associated Builders and Contractors of Connecticut Excellence in Construction – 1st Place Industrial Category
Congratulations go out to the entire project team for doing an outstanding job and being recognized by their peers in the Connecticut chapter of ABC.
During the awards ceremony, special attention was paid to the Chapter’s Education Committee, which is working tirelessly to create opportunities for high school students to gain the necessary skills needed to get started in construction. Industry and educators are working hand in hand to update curriculums and expose students and their parents to the opportunities that abound in the construction industry. Our very own Anne Kutscher and Colleen O’Hare were recognized for their dedicated work, organizing educational career fairs and updating school curriculums, sharing their knowledge about the skill sets that are needed to be successful workers in the construction industry.
