Procter & Gamble has a worldwide reputation for its emphasis on safety, and Cianbro's team at P&G's manufacturing facility in Auburn, Maine is truly measuring up. Whether talking about ongoing maintenance operations at P&G's plant, or expansion construction projects, Cianbro's team and subcontractors led by Project Manager Ernie Selberg have now surpassed four years without a recordable incident. The tenth anniversary of 9/11 also became the date that the replacement for the old Brightman Street Bridge was dedicated between Fall River and Somerset, Massachusetts. Cianbro is being honored by AARP (a.k.a. The American Association of Retired Persons) as one of the organization's 2011 Best Employers for Workers Over 50. In the weeks following the Baltimore Fab Shop's attainment of the prestigious SHARP Award from federal and Maryland Labor Department officials, the business unit has reached another significant safety milestone. This week, the Baltimore Shop has surpassed three years without a recordable injury.

 The City of Bangor today held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the construction of the new Bangor Arena at Bass Park, to replace the aging Bangor Auditorium. Bangor City Councilors were joined by representatives of Cianbro, the General Contractor on the project, and Sink Combs Dethlefs, the project architect.

The company's Wind Energy Services team is announcing that Cianbro has been awarded the Spruce Mountain Wind Project in Woodstock, Maine by developer Patriot Renewables LLC. The 20 Megawatt project scope includes foundations, turbine erection, electrical collection, and electrical transmission. The earthworks efforts, by others, are presently underway, with the entire project scheduled for completion before the end of 2011.

In a Thursday budget workshop session at City Hall in Bangor, Maine, municipal leaders officially selected Cianbro Corporation to build a new arena and convention center to replace the aging Bangor Auditorium. Cianbro Project Manager Jon DiCentes expects mobilization to begin during the week of June 20th, including moving office trailers on site, installing temporary fencing, and setting up project signage.
