The famous Brooklyn Bridge in New York City is in the middle of important renovations, and Cianbro Fabrication and Coating Corporation has been a key supplier of repair steel at the project for about a year. On April 15th, the National Guard invited Cianbro to an awards ceremony held at the University of Maine in appreciation of the efforts by team members to make the deployment easier for the troops. Those soldiers included SSG Dan Thibeault, who is a Cianbro Safety Specialist. Cianbro Vice President Tom Stone accepted a commemorative plaque from the National Guard on behalf of the company. "We received thanks," said Tom, "but this wasn't about Cianbro. It was about the troops doing their duty. Our soldiers knew they were on the minds of folks back home, and they appreciated it."

To the west is the aging General Sullivan Bridge, now a pedestrian span. A stone's throw to the east is the current Cianbro-built Little Bay Bridge which carries four lanes of the Spaulding Turnpike over the Piscataqua River, linking Newington and Dover, New Hampshire. Between the two bridges is Cianbro's latest job site in the Granite State. The company is building a new Little Bay Bridge which will eventually link with the four lanes of the current span, thereby greatly improving the flow of traffic in this busy corridor of New Hampshire.

The Niantic Railway Bridge Replacement jobsite between Niantic and Waterford, Connecticut was one of Cianbro's coldest of the winter. Record snowfall and a frigid wind blowing in from Long Island Sound kept the site in the deep freeze. But the tough conditions were not enough to keep Cianbro/Middlesex crews from making major strides in the effort to replace the aging railway bridge over the Niantic River.
