Cianbro's operations with joint venture partner, the Middlesex Companies, have been a bright spot in the company's portfolio for 2008 and 2009. Work is progressing smoothly, with the team celebrating 400,000 hours without a lost time injury while staying on schedule for a 2012 completion. The result of these efforts is a visually striking bridge that will serve an important role in the Fall River/Somerset area of southern Massachusetts. Project Manager Kaven Philbrook talks about this shining success story.

The second voyage to deliver Cianbro modules to the Motiva refinery expansion project in Texas is underway. Friday morning, crews worked beneath a steady drizzle at the Eastern Manufacturing Facility bulkhead in Brewer, Maine, to prepare the four modules for the 2,300 mile barge journey. Crew members aboard the ocean going tug, Emma Foss, secured lines to the barge and slid out into the middle of the Penobscot River practically "on the dot" at 11:30 a.m. as scheduled.
