Scope of Work
Cianbro is constructing a 27.2 mile 115 kV transmission line from Kibby Mountain Township to Central Maine Power Company’s Bigelow Substation.
Project Details
Cianbro is:
- Procuring all materials
- Clearing 495 acres
- Providing 4,700 mattes for Environmental mitigation
- Constructing 220 wood framed structures
- Installing 445,000 lf of conductor
- Installing 128,000 lf of fiber optic OPGW
- Designing and installing 4/10th of a mile of underground 115 kV transmission line
- Utilizing helicopter services for framing and conductor installation
Unique Challenge
The Kibby Mountain Transmission Line project provides unique challenges including environmental sensitivity, mountainous terrain, and an aggressive schedule working in remote areas.
Kibby Mountain Substation
Scope of Work
Cianbro is providing EPC services for the construction of a 34.5 kV – 115 kV substation that will concentrate and upgrade the power from the wind towers and to Central Maine Power Company’s Bigelow substation through a newly constructed transmission line.
Project Details
Cianbro is:
- Providing engineering services in accordance with the Owner’s specifications
- Procuring all electrical and mechanical components with the exception of the Owner supplied transformer and DVAR’s
- Installing all civil and structural components
- Installing all electrical components
- Installing all power and controls
- Providing engineering specifications and guidance throughout the commissioning of the project
