Scope of Work
Cianbro demolished and removed the existing abandoned piers, bulkhead and building foundations and built, in its place, a new recreational wharf.
Project Details
Cianbro:
- Demolished the existing timber piers and cribwork including 340 piles, stringers and decking along with 700 tons of creosote timbers
- Constructed a turbidity curtain for erosion and sediment control along with a silt fence, rip rap, berms and swales
- Drove 550 lf of steel sheet pile wall
- Formed and placed 55 cy of 24 inch x 18 inch cast-in-place concrete caps
- Constructed a timber boardwalk comprised of 148 – 40 ft timber piles with stringers and decking
- Drove 32, 40 ft timber piles and erected the structural steel foundation frame for the building
- Installed 50 ft of temporary sheeting for the new pump station
- Installed stainless steel railings
Unique Challenge
Through value engineering and partnering with Owner, Cianbro was able to complete the project with a substantial savings to the owner.
