Cianbro’s internships are paid and are available to full-time undergraduate students who have completed at least their freshman year of college.
 
Internships are focused on those students who are pursuing a degree in:

The typical length of the internship is 8-12 weeks in duration but is flexible based on the requirements of the institution and the student.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate various types of cranes to lift and move material. Rig equipment, machinery, and material using slings, chain falls, come-alongs and other riggings gear as required.
  • Perform daily inspection and preventative maintenance on the equipment.
  • Read and understand load chart (good math skills).

This position requires the preparation of contract proposal estimates for a variety of complex projects.  The position will also involve the review proposals, specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents to estimate, in addition to determining the suitability of the project for Cianbro and the availability of resources to bid the project and continually monitors the work through completion.

Cianbro is seeking candidates for its Industrial Construction Bootcamp Training Program! This opportunity will be an intense paid ($12/HR), 4-week training program focusing on the education of critical skills & tasks to be performed on industrial construction projects.

Upon successful completion of the training program, the trainee will “graduate” and be assigned to a project with a starting pay of $16/HR. After a two-week evaluation, a determination will be made in regard to recommendation into a long term craft training program.

The Heavy Construction Recruiter is primarily responsible for coordinating and executing recruitment and hiring activities for various Cianbro markets in support of the business operations. The position will work closely with the construction projects to meet their hiring needs. Requires close coordination with project managers, superintendents and general foremen in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.
  • Select qualified job applicants or refer them to managers, making hiring recommendations when appropriate.
  • Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities.
  • Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork including on-boarding activities.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is a must.
  • 5 years of progressive recruiting experience in construction, manufacturing or other similar environment with an emphasis on recruitment of craft personnel (pipe welders, pipefitters, millwrights, electricians, iron workers, etc).
  • Ability to easily meet and connect with people at all levels and communicate effectively to satisfy their needs.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor degree. (Safety field preferred)
